1. Who is the instructor and what are his qualifications?
Our instructor is Corey Stanford. Corey is a 3rd Degree Tae Kwon Do Black Belt. He also had a Black Belt in Judo and Hapkido. He’s been teaching kids, teens and adults for over 15 years.
2. What style(s) of Martial Arts will be taught?
The three different styles that will be taught come from the Korean Rock Soldiers and compliment each other. Judo “The Gentle Way” is the art of using/manipulating your opponent’s balance against them to achieve one of many throws while maintaining your own balance. Judo also uses aspects of Jujitsu. Tae Kwon Do will allow students to learn multiple kicks, punches, blocks and self defense techniques.
3. What are other benefits of martial arts classes?
There are many benefits of taking martial arts classes! One of the biggest benefits is the confidence it gives individuals knowing that they are learning a practical life skill as well as the health benefits of cardio and body weight training.
4. Is there an opportunity to grow into more advanced belts all the way up to black belt?
Everyone’s reasoning for taking martial arts is different, a Black Belt is achievable to anyone who puts in time, discipline and effort.
5. Does a uniform need to be purchased?
Uniforms are available for purchase, but it is a separate cost from the session registration fee. A martial arts “gi” is typically $55-$60.
